New Car Learner Questions

Ive had my learners for a few years. Is it important I get my licence before July 07 they put in these new BS changes? or will it make no difference because I will stilly be on my Ps after this date? Also how long on your Ps before u can apply for your opens?

yeah u hold ur P's for 3 yrs then clicks onto ur opens. Me im stil on my bloody P's though should of been on my opens last yr in april but had it suspended this is my 3rd time now. u should be right with the new crappy laws. they are a load of BS but hey

I posted the pic because it is a different old style handbrake and my mum just pulls it which I think is wrong. Also you know those blue reflectors in the middle of the road my driving instructor told me they are for the fire service to find fire hydrants not marking the middle of the road? Do any of you know if this is true?

I just thought they were used where road markings were not painted. Usually see them on newly re-surfaced roads or back streets the council hasn't gotten around to painting. Just keep to the left of them.

If there are parked cars which there are often on these types of streets with those markings do i have to indicate if I pass past the theoretical line that joins up the blue markers?

blue markers dont count. i asked a driving teacher this and he said its best to stay in the inside of them if you can as you're supposed to stay on the left of your lane, but if you cant it's not a big deal like the real centre markers.

YOu know those sun shade visors things on the back of cars is all you have to do to take them off just unscrew the 8 or so plastic screws, there isnt usually glue or anything ther that will tear and wreck the car will it?

All the ones I've encountered have no glue. However, there's always an exception.

Your instructor is right. ALWAYS. You are going to be tested by Qld Transport. Your instructor knows how you will be tested and he will be teaching you how to drive so you can pass a driving test. From then on your on you own. The learning doesn’t stop when you get your licence. It never stops. The ones who stop learning end up on the news. But, until you have the licence you MUST follow the instruction you have been taught.

I've wondered the same thing, as I've seen many cops pass it without coming to a complete stop?

A couple of things

1) Do not abbreviate your words, if you cannot spell get a spell checker.
2) We did not merge all the threads so you can just have your own little section, have a look around the site and post in the right area.

I did the IQ test yesterday on another thread and scored 139. After reading all this I think I'm -4000. I don't think you deserve a licence after reading some of these questions. You say that you are 20 and had your learners a few years,do us all a favour and catch public transport

Oh boy,
I have my learners now. Have had them for about a month and i am driving fine. I also know the answer to every question you have asked. Just believe what your driver instructor tells you because he will be right.

Anyone know if there is a certain number of times you should check your mirror? like if you are driving in 1 lane straight should you check your mirrors every 7 seconds or something?

Lerner, get a clue, if you're serious about all these questions, if i were you i would stick to walking and keep the gloves on so your knuckles don't bleed when they're dragging on the ground.

Best you learn how to spell, and as Laminge has stated already, get in touch with a Driving School and a Qualified Driving Instructor.

Lastly, Threads do not need to be Reported multiple times.

Anyone know of any other online tests like these. ive found a few but the give way sign one is the only 1 where it tells you the correct answer.
