trying to keep it based on the Bseries, sure there will be other stands for other makes etc but teh majority should be bseries members and was the sarcasm really necessary?

hmmm
we can keep it restricted... doesn't take much to change the title from a moderator's perspective...

I think we will scrap the dyno... Sorry Ron... I know you're keen on it... but I'm with the other guys on how it changes the social atmosphere and its rather expensive for our humble gathering...
Anyways... lets keep the discussion going... what do we want and what don't we want... the earlier the Planning the better... allows for advertising... If its alright with those involved We can Continue with the Title of "Parkes All Ford Day" or keep the "Parkes motor Meet" title... just focus advertising to the Ford clans.... [in response to below post] (when we say that... we don't mean non BA's....) We're not Racist... we allow Holdens... there were a couple on the weekend... The thing we need to consider is that with combining with the Local Car Clubs show... we will need to allow other makes and models... They have bikes, cars, trucks and boats attend theirs...

to save confusion.. lets approach the Parkes Motor Meet the same way as the ACT All Ford Day... its a show and shine combined with the other local clubs, to save on insurance and to collect a bigger crowd...
So if a moderator is reading and can change the title... to "27th Sept 2009 - Parkes Motor Meet and All Ford Day" in this sense the Local car club will have their Mixed Show and shine display of cars and then we can have our Area of the grass for the All Ford Day... Gordz... If you're still doing a flyer... can you use the above title and add hosted by Bseries and Central West Car Club... I'll send throught the pics i've been using or a copy of the last flyer... cheers... I'll be having a meeting with the local car club next sunday to discuss the ins and outs of this a little further... and next year we'll see what happens... Can someone show these AU guys the photos of the Au's that were here on the weekend...? lets keep this on topic... I don't want to have to defend that its NOT only for Bseries... and that its HOSTED by the Bseries crew...

I guess at the end of the day, it can be what ever you decide it to be, but IMO, if you allow everyone to enter, the day will be a bigger success, with a bigger cross section of cars for people to look at. Good luck with the organisation Guardian.

I'm all for having other makes and models there, but on the same token, I wouldn't want B Series members to be discouraged from coming because they don't like the idea of being in a show and shine wedged between 2 Supercharged GTs and fully decked out ELs etc. The focus should be more on the social gathering then the show and shine.

i think your right airmon... the social thing is cool...
but people aren't going to come just for a BBQ and drinks... unless of course thats all you want it to be... these are the things that need to be identified and focused on... by far the bast part about the parkes meet was social part... the dinners, the drinks and the out of show things that we did... i'm keen and if you'd rather have the parkes B series meet at the same time as the parkes club's show and shine then that makes it a whole lot easier to just organise the social side of things...

If we want to make it family friendly, I can probably get a Jumping castle for cheap, and Fairy Floss/Popcorn/Snow cones for cheap aswell. If you're interested, it would end up pretty cheap, and if you wanted to sell it (e.g. Bag of popcorn for $1 etc.) it would make a little bit back.
Just an idea, if you're interested Daniel just give me a hoy. Sounds good, I don't want to discourage other AFF members from coming, but try to encourage more B Series members to come (I'll start with me showing up ). But that sounds like a better idea, keep it a show and shine for all fords but organize bigger dinners etc.

I can't see why we can't invite all makes and models to the show. Like we will be well represented I'm sure and there is no reason we can't have our own side events.
Yes the social side is great, but the show is the reason that we all get together. The more cars we get there, the bigger a success the show will be and help make it an annual event.

i don't have a problem with a multi car show and shine however for me the highlight of the trip was the saturday night, dinner then pubs, i think that if we make it a multi club event we should have at least one night for us as a club to go otv together ouch as we did this year

Yeah, no reason why we can't get as many different types of cars and their respective clubs involved as possible. See if we can't make Parks the next Mecca for quality, family based car meets.
