Ford has priced the new Fiesta ST hot-hatch at just $25,990 plus on-road costs.
The new three-door model is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 134kW of power and 240Nm of torque, with fuel use rated at just 6.2L/100km. The new model will undercut rivals such as the three-door Volkswagen Polo GTI (from $27,990), five-door Skoda Fabia RS (from $27,990) and three-door Citroen DS3 D-Sport (from $29,740). Peugeot's new 208 GTi, which goes on sale shortly, is expected to be more expensive, too, as a less grunty 208 Sport version is priced at $26,490. Only the considerably less powerful Suzuki Swift Sport is cheaper, from $23,990 plus costs. Advertisement The Fiesta ST gets Recaro sports seats, a sports steering wheel, alloy pedals and gear-knob, an eight-speaker Sony stereo with colour display, Bluetooth media streaming and USB input, push-button start and keyless entry, 17-inch alloys with a space-saver spare and seven airbags. Ford announced earlier this week that it would add equipment and new engines to its facelifted Fiesta range, which, like the new ST model, will arrive in dealerships from September. http://brisbanetimes.drive.com.au/mo...802-2r3i5.html

It's also in the Fiesta thread too!
Other makes will IMO find it hard to compete as the ST is very similar spec to its competitors and gives nothing away performance wise.

DJM83 I posted it here, for FF who don't go to the Fiesta thread. Lets hope Ford doesn't have a supply problem...

That is very sharp pricing. Awesome package by the looks of it.
This car will be in huge demand world wide so supply may be an issue. |

Looks nice but I don't think I could go back to petrol engines or super minis.
