Default Help toploader shifter

I am having triuble with putting the detent spring in my shift lever. I think the shifter is XA type but am not sure. It is a centre shift mounted to the LHS of the gbox extention. I just bought the car(XR fairmont) and it had no detent spring in it. Can anyone help me with this? I have a couple of pics of the shifter if needed.
