Time should ake no difference. They paid to produce a product to sell. Not just for 1 or 2 years. Without protecting businesses no one would be interested in producing the product in the first place.

How would you feel if owning a house for 20 years some squatters moved in and said that since you have had it for 20 years they should be able to live there too as you should have already got your value out of the house?
