what would I prefer to own?? Well, since nothing specific on the topic has been listed, how about all the oil fields in Saudi Arabia.... That would be nice to own!!

Oh, and a nice gold teapot!

As for cars.. if it was only one.. the DB9 would probably get my coin for the sheer style of it!

out of that list I said BF GTP

Power, nicer interior, wheels and the 6 speed auto.

If you are getting a manual I see no point in getting a BF if performance is your goal.

EDIT: talking about the 4v

I had to go with the F6 typhoon manual, Love my 6's and while the auto would be better for the quater I reckon the manual would be more fun all round.

out of the above a hard decision between the Phoon Manual and the HSV Clubby Manual. In end bias took charge and went for the phoon. GT is just not even close for consideration.

Would have gone with a Typhoon, but i've heard bad things about them, so a BF GT-P for me.

(Manual goes without saying.)

Performance issues, quality issues, reliability issues...obviously if I was in the market for a new FPV i'd do some research on my own, go for test drives etc, but i'm not so i'll just go off the word of a mate for now.

Off the poll list, GT-P auto. (assuming its choice only, not what you can afford or think is good value etc)
Not on the poll list, new Ford GT (GT 40)

I would go a BF F6 auto. Reason is that they're a sexy beast, I would swap my AU in a heartbeat if I had the money.

BF FPV F6 Typhoon auto. It's easily the fastest of the lot. Not only that, it's also easiest to make even faster. I'll take one in Shockwave or Vixen thanks.

Money no object, the BF GTP auto. In reality the BF F6 auto. Got a Mk2 GT manual already..lol

Reason for the BF GTP-auto: Top of the range with all best performance and creature comfort gear included. May not be the fastest but with the 6 speed auto and an 'enhanced' BOSS v8 it's going to seriously boogy. Fast enough for what I want it for anyway. If paying for it on my tab, the F6 auto would be my next best choice.

All those cars are a little to "out there" for me. If I was spending that sort of cash I would buy a Black XR6 turbo with the six speed auto leather and all the goodies, get an edit and take the badges off.

BF GT-P manual. I've always preferred the manuals, and the GT-P has all the extra features I'd want, as well as a tough V8. I'm not too worried about the Typhoon being quicker. Can only go 110kmh on the road anyway.

I'd have to opt for the GTP manual

Ford's flagship model. The V8, full options, the GT heritage. Nuff said.

Sure, a Typhoon/XR6T would rock (and would rock you in a quicker fashion!), but the heart rules over the head in this case for me.

I'll take a red one with black stripes thankyou Santa :P (or Satan if typos are considered)

If I were to recommend a car to a friend- putting my name to it.

Overall the BF F6. It shows to be the best performance car in the Ford stable. It’s not the top model but it should be and by my count is a good 4k under priced based on a credibility scale. Its FPV thinking that is stopping it from being there. You can option up most of what matters in the performance department. The only thing missing is performance seats which is just a way of keeping the GT-P relevant. The top performance car with out the option of performance seats! Go figure.
The only question I would have sits on power delivery. Peaky or any feeling of delay won’t be to everyone’s liking. The rush when it happens might grind long term. So far no owners have really commented on it so I assume it isn’t overtly damaging.

In the recent "wheels" evaluation the performance gap was significant and would have been more if optioned up with brembo 6 pots. In the performance times the F6 at one point got out to a 6/tenth margin to be pegged back to 3/ 10s. What is interesting is that the speed in gear was being listed at 6000rpm. In another bit of miss information it is my understanding that only the F6 auto has transient rpm limiting so when 'Wheel's say these cars have identical autos that’s not completely correct. I know some publications have both listed but others like the official Blue Print magazine specifically only mention this feature with reference to the F6. The F6 A6 has another 250 rpm that it can call on. FPVs intent with the F6 is superior then that of the GT range. It enjoys more independent specific engineering over the donor car.

If the person has to be a V8 owner and has a premium on performance then the choice would be the VZ R8. Huge deals go a long way to offsetting a noticeable quality deficit.

It will be close to the F6 in terms of performance and still have the aurora of a V8. Spent plenty of time in this car and there isn't too much not to like in way of performance. Interior plastic is a sore point but as a package it does exactly what its design intent says it should.

As an overall package that required a V8 preference, the GT delivers ride and interior quality improvements over the HSV car that will be both noticeable and evident in day to day commuting. The refinement should be compelling and increase the impression of quality over the out going MK2.

If resale is important then again the F6 and the R8 look to have longer stronger appeal.

550 nm is going to run close to the top for a while certainly given XR6T move to 480nm.

The GTs numbers look week looking forward. Already out torque by the LS2 one would image an upgrade to keep a margin over the L76s 520nm will be soon on the horizon. Given this buying premium BOSS doesn't look smart. GT offers better value and looking forward limits damage. Upgrading the brakes to six pots should see a return at trade time and this item will be of value in the future. Historically the GT brand also has value. If you were to look at cross shopping wait till after the first week in Dec as 06 Holden product should be close to listing.
