Unfortunately it immediately dates both the VZ and the current BA. Just hope the BA update has some metal changes or the Falcon will be in trouble. It will be like going back to the EL vs VT days. Back then I stilled loved the EL, but they only sold when heavy discounted once the VT came out.
That's the 1st thing I thought to, with the crease in the bonnet/guard's it look's like the new Focus????.

Looks more like a Chevrolet or Cadillac (sp?) to me.

On those pics it has Dual Twin Pipe Exhausts.... NICEEEEEEEEEEE..... hopefully that will come out like that.

I agree, its very European, Classy.... if its like that i wouldnt mind having one!
Front end is similar to the New Focus/Mondeo, and also like the Torana concept car!

They need to make that TT V6 from the torana concept for the commy range or if not at least the HSV range. It would be awesome

If that is it, we might be in trouble. So much for the bad taste Holden adorned voodoo doll that’s been in the fridge for the last 12 months.

Looks very nice to me and will have quality engineering unlike the dish being served at the moment.

That is so ugly... it looks like a Holden Vectra got raped by a Honda Accord Seppo, and then raped again by an Audi A4, and had their bastard child. That car is gross.

*Runs off to vomit at the thought of new Holden Commodore A4 Seppo*

Love it. Its about time aussie car makers attempted to lose the Big dumb aussie muscle car image and went for Euro-chic. It looks great, i'm a big fan, hopefully falcon will be just as nice, but even nicer!

What's all this crap about the euro styling, since when has a V car not been euro styled? I think people have been giving Holden more credit than they deserve in the styling department over the years if people think they're clean sheet designs.

I don't mind it, but that grille badge? damn that's ugly. There will be millions of these things on the road, we don't need a dinner plate sized badge to let us know it's a Holden.

Some of it looks classy, some of it looks just plain mutated. I'll make up my mind when I see a base model in the flesh.... The height of the doors kind of looks like a Camry sportivo imo...... and the side rear shot makes it look like it barely has a boot.

It looks like a rather average photoshop to me. The glasshouse has been directly ripped off the new Saturn Aura which this photoshop has been based off.

It might be close, but it's not the real thing.

Well said. Unless I'm mistaken (wouldn't be the first time, LOL), aren't pretty much all Commodore designs based on Opels, with some changes mainly relating to the length (longer), wheelbase (longer) engine and drivetrain (RWD instead of FWD)?

Can't say that about Falcon, although at times it has looked a little like a US Mustang...

Nup. Not working.

Actually, I remember when the VY was released, a mate of mine was a Holden fan until that came out. He converted not long after that.

VB Commodore = Opel Reckford.

VZ Commodore = Opel Omega

And the Omega is RWD, just has a (slightly) smaller wheelbase, and smaller engines. Its biggest engine is a 3.0litre V6.

The original Mustang was Falcon based, then the XR-XY Falcons were more Mustang based. XA on are unique to Australia, based on.. themselves, from what I understand.

Oh well, I wasn't too far off the mark then

I was shocked when my uncle got himself a VN, and then didn't know what to say when he then went on to say he was proud of the fact that it was originally designed to be a front driver and that Holden had converted that design to run the rears with the same engine...

Guess he's just never driven a Falcon...

Oh by the way, the Omega that the VT Commodore was based on, came out in 1995 (two years before VT).
