Not a bad list, but just a few comments...
Toyota are 'famous' for being one of the most reliable car makes in the world. They didn't make all their money selling crappy cars, afterall. And they certinatly didn't make it on millions of warrenty returns. Previous Skyline's ugly and not that fast? The R32 GT-R still is the fastest model of the GT-R's, being the lightest and having the same power output. And the engine is designed to be turbocharged, so of course in non-turbo charged state it'd be a little limp. But you'd be surprised how fast the non-turbo RB25 models are, they'd keep up with a stock falcon. How is the engine overrated? It's a proven, strong design that can make some serious horsepower and rev hard, stock. Love the R34 GT-R though, shame what happened to the car in your picture... :( At the least, I'd have to add the Ferrari F40 to that list! |

I had a celica with an 18R. tough as nails.
Porsche. As an engineer with an interest in sportscar design, all I can say about them is that they are a triumph of development over design. I mean really. no one in their right mind would hang the engine behind the rear wheels if they really wanted a car that handles...... I notice that there are no Clevos in the top 10? SVT Cobra R is a close substitute I will say tho....

I'd have to request a Cossie in there, the goold old Eskie Cosworth, the original banzai AWD Turbo that's STILL outrunning the cops overseas and set the mould for the affordable Turbo hatch I reckon. That and it's a Ford...

I dont know if anyone else has said this, but did you know the R34 GTR that you pictured is the one that the young bloke died in when he took his dads car for a spin and killed just about everyone in the car. I think it was on the central coast.
Was a bloody nice car but :(

ha ha clearly comes from a bloke who's never driven one in anger. an hsv may be faster in a straight line, but nowhere near it on a winding road. it gives up 60 odd kilowatts to an M3, but is quicker around a track. go figure. yep, overrated... it's not that a boxster costs 150k. it's so good, the point is that it ONLY costs 150K |
