You serious? Falcon or Ranger....? Do you want a car or a POS fall over heap of crap that like all others of its ilk just fill me with hilarity that people use such horrible ill handling POS for daily drivers when they don't carry big loads and spend the majority of their time off road..... The mind boggles...

Buy turbo falcons people! They're theones we really should be desiring!
I have always had a similar line of thought. The best of the Aussie muscle cars was the E49 Charger with Aussie motor, Aussie gearbox, Aussie diff.... The others were just imported parts bin specials.. Same with late model stuff the F6 is the only real Aussie latter day muscle car, again, all the V8s are imported parts bin specials. The only true 'Aussie' muscle cars only ever had six cylinders. Holden made their 8 here in the day but they were so dog slow they were a laugh in comparison to the Aussie made 6s.

Or worse, they shut the engine plant, and so once stocks are gone the last Falcons that roll off the line all come with ecoboost, wouldn’t that be a ****er.

In all seriousness, if you want your last Falcon to be a Ute, or an XR6T, I’d be keeping an ear to the ground.
Someone asked the question if the I6 was going to continue till the end and not be replaced by the Ecoboost, and the plant manager cracked up laughing about how much of a joke the ecoboost has been, its basically non-existant.

So there's your answer.

The engine or the way Ford Marketing dealt with it?

'Ford Marketing' should always be in italics or in inverted commas :-)

Absolutely, and I am still amazed that people can drive them every day. They are better than most contemporaries for sure, but nobody could ever seriously want to drive them if they didn't want a work hack or off-roader.

I drive Navara's, Rodeo's, Tritans at work.. The latter model turbo diesels go like stink...
There handling is so much better than older models also !! The latter models in some of them are now Thai made..

Fair enough I love mine. Spent most of the last 10 years in Falcon utes. I wouldn't go back now.

Well still any time I get in anything like that, even though the latest models, are not so inherently unstable and dangerous as their predecessors, still strike me as just chronically bad.

I bought a new XR6T manual sedan a week ago. The dealer said there were 7 in dealer stock in country then.

I wouldn't be worried but I bet many will be.

Friend of mine works at a Mazda dealership, and over the weekend two people came in who were shopping for a Territory but were worried about quality post-announcement.

Ford might want to run a TVC or small campaign plugging the fact quality won't drop!

Ford doesn't need 12 people in Marketing, they just need to increase from 5 to 6 staff - bring in one extra, and he can do Falcon ads and stop the other 5 guys running ads about shoe compartments.

I personally think the they should drop the G6 name and go back to the fairmont names. I want to buy a 2016 model then buy a xk to so I have the first and last falcon

I really hope there are no limited models, by all means 'special editions' but don't make them limited.

Not every worker at Ford is as passionate as those on here, I have worked there and there are some shockers.
I have never seen a place where the management and shop floor workers butted heads non stop. This culture definitely played a part in the closure as far as I'm concerned.
