Nah! The XD-XE shoulda been junked. There are many nice Falcons out there. Quite often the owners changes to a particular model can make it King O' The Catwalk.
I'd rather have my AU with the 4.6 and auto outa the Explorer. (Small V8, loads of grunt, V8 burble, and an excellent fuel consumption for that size motor.)

As for my favourite falcon, I always liked the EB GT. Tuff looking, nice interior, rare, decent width alloys and started the Ford Vs Holden war again by forcing HSV to build a competitor. Love it!!!

I like the way you think i never looked at it that way :king:

Not sure if anyone is interested, but i just stumbled on this website, a car club revolving around the U.S. Ford Falcon (and Futura), which was the car that Ford Australia management saw, and made them cease production of the Zephyr, and build the first Australian Ford Falcon. In other words i thought people who don't know much about Falcon history would be interested in seeing what their modern ride was derived from.

Best of old and new is the AU falcon.
Tough double wishbone cast iron rear suspension, venerable and ever reliable windsor v8. How ironic that the most maligned series of FALCONS ever built has come to such prominence years later!

I dont know what it is but the BA,s look tough, like the old gt falcons do.Just their presence, menacing, something that the AU,s cant command.

XY XY XY Theres three of my favourite falcons XW is my fourth choice. After owning just about all of themXK,XP,XT,XY,XB,XD,EA,EBII,AU over the last 24 years, I had to go back to the second car I owned a XY,so instead of paying for my local ford dealers next holiday I found a wagon for work.Made my mechanic happy,my auto elect, the local panel dude, and the parts shop bloke all love me,hey its taken time instead of walk in and drive away but if your going to spend cash get something that wont depreciate too quick and originality counts.Have a look at the price of a new ute and there at every building site ,however pulling up in the 351 wagon heads always turn and every old blokes got a story at lunch about the time they went here or there in a GT in the days of unlimited speed zones.

I assume if the poll was done now with the BF, the BA support would crumble and the BF would be most popular. Well, maybe not straight away, but in a years time it would be (with more and more BF owners). And then once the Orion model is here, support for the BF model would crumble under a new wave of support for Orion...

And so on and so forth into eternity...

The real interesting thing will be where the support lies for the Eseries, Aseries and Bseries in about 10-15 years time. I'd put money on it being a fairly even split between them (due to the different characteristics of the cars appealing to different owners). Perhaps the A and B series would be ahead of the E series slightly due to age etc.. But now I'm starting to go on and on... :

Ive had an XB, XW, EF, BA and XE. My favourite memories are of the XWGT and I wouldnt mind an XAGT sedan or coupe but I voted for my current ride the ESP.

Who let all these AU owners vote? Why isn't the XB any higher?

I also find it laughable that the XD - XF range have as many votes as they do.

Well that's the advantage of living in a democracy. Maybe because more people prefer AU's,XD's,XE's & XF's than XB's... hence the poll. It's not rocket science. Just be glad your not a lover of XK's. By the way my three favourite models are AU's,EB's & XD's :thebirds:

Love the AU, and XY, XF and XE were great too, especially the XE351 ESP. I liked the XB and XC and also do love the BA and BF.

My dad's first Ford was an XY. Learnt to drive in that car!
My brother's first car was an XB.
Dad then got an XF Ghia, that's now my brother's car!
My Uncle still drives an XE Ghia he bought from new!
The first car I did 200 kmph in was an XC Fairmont GXL 351. I was 14, it was a great experience, and a fantastic car.
My brother in law has a BA XR6.

I own two AUs.

AU S1 Futura Wagon - great family car
AU S2 SR Sedan - great everyday car

Both great value for money.
