Greetings - I need help finding a vehicle repairer in Darwin that won't rip me off. I am not after a cheapie who does lousy work I just want someone who does what they say they did and charges only for what they did.
Case1 - car winds over and does not fire - diagnosed as fuel pump relay - cost was $187 - part $24 labour $49 Computer diagnosis $116 Case 2 - 150 k service with radiator flush - Cost $500 - two days later car started over heating and had no power steering fluid - I was informed I must have drained the fluid out - suggested perhaps it wasn't put in - told to F off. Fluid is pouring out of power steering switch. As a pensioner I don't have money to blow on work not done. car is now needing to be topped up with radiator fluid every two to three days Thanks in advance to anyone who can help (AU III XR6) |

Many of us have had similar dramas in the past, and still sometimes do when there's a bigger job than we can manage ourselves.
I'm not in Darwin, so cannot help you or recommend anyone, but I hope someone on here who's up North can point you in the right direction. GK

I've just moved to Darwin and am also in search of a good mechanic, just to do a general service as I'm in a apartment now....
Let us know if you find someone |

thats horrible, sorry to hear about your dramas, atleast if you feel they deserve it, you can post the mechanic/workshop on here, to warn other members about unfair trade.

Not knowing a mechanic you can trust is one of the most dangerous aspects to car ownership. I am very, very glad I have one.
