Just inquiring if anyone has done this conversion before? Would a motor trimmer do this sort of job? I would assume the complete wiring loom would need to be swapped.

Sounds like a job for the auto electrician, unless you want to have a go yourself.

There is one XR8 that I know of that has had this done - it involved a LOT of work and expense. It was an XR ute and was for sale on the "other" FF - can't remember the username though.
