Default XR series control arms

Do the EL XR series cars have different-length upper rear control arms to regular Falcons? I recall different upper mounting points - the diff has three holes in the upper suspension bracket - but not sure about arm length. I'd like to fit 'factory' XR suspension to my regular EL sedan. Advice appreciated...

Don't think it's due to lenth, probably due to the lowering of the car.

Would have got more response if this was posted in the eseries tech section

oops thought it was the Tech section! My bad...

if soemone could move, that'd be great

Anyhow, I recall reading somewhere that the later model 'tube-style' upper arms were different lengths compared to the older stamped steel ones... I have an EL that I wish to fit 'factory' XR suspension to and I want to make sure the rear end geometry is correct

They are longer than the standard EL arms - 340mm vs 320mm - to suit the lower mounting point. They also have a kink in the diff side of the arm to allow clearance off the diff at fill suspension compression.

And both standard and XR arms are made from tubular metal.

I have 2 sets at home, with bushes, if you are interested.

Yep. They install on the lower/rearmost hole.

Yours will currently be bolted into the middle/frontmost hole.

And PM sent!
