Wondering when some bright spark Down Under uses the same concept to power a RWD falcon. Small generator hitched to the back in a trailer, or even sitting in the back of a falcon ute should work for long distance runs? |

Damn thats nice, but id think id be embarrased if people knew it was eletric powered. I'd never touch an eletric car, dont even like the idea of lpg powered.
If i had to pick that or the petrol powered equivalent, petrol it is. |

What if a big v8, maybe a 351 under the hood was modified to just run as a generator. Still get that tough engine noise to fill in the silence, and probably not use much fuel as it would hardly need to rev to produce decent voltage. The electric motor/assembly could be hitched directly to the trans or rear axle.

I would like that but come on It last 1 hour unless you plant the foot then it only capable of going a distance of 1 mile and then takes 3 hours to charge . It is utterly useless get further on a tredly. Look good in the garage but its all its good for and driving to the letterbox

It would be good someone like for Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino.
The battery lasts long enough to back it down the drive way so he can look at while knocking back cans on the verandah. |

I doubt electric cars will become commonplace anytime soon simply due to the fact that the furthest one can go is around 50km, I used to do double that a day going to work and back.
But saying that, if electric cars were to become commonplace (meaning they can go furhter than 50km) then I would want an electric car that looked like that. |

Mate, you need to look around a bit, they are achieving way more than 50km range. In fact the Mini E has a range of 150 miles (240 km), a charge time of 2.5 hrs from dead flat and more power than a Mini Cooper S. Having said that, I could not imagine a mustang with no V8 rumble. This car is obviously not a car they will be build, more likely just a demonstration that anything can be made into an electric.

I'd buy one if there was a way to re-charge the batteries while the car was operational. 1 hour of use is crap. Other than that, the performance figures are impressive.
