Hey guys,
Im looking at getting a new toolbox im after sugestions of what people have that they are happy with, So far ive lookad at the supertool 6 drawer for around $100 but my bro has one of theese and the lid sticks - Also they dont have ball bearing slides . Sidchrome and Kinchrome also makes nice boxes but they are a bit $, Im looking at around the $300 at this stage for the top box but i want to add the bottom chest to the set at a later date Any Ideas?? Ash |

Save for decent Sidchrome or Kinchrome jobbie. A million times better than Superworks/supertool/supercrap.

Nothing beats the Series 2 Kinchrome toolboxs, i've got heaps of them, all different sorts and have never had any troubles with any of the kinchrome boxes, well worth the extra money you pay for them

If you really want to spend the dollars go for snap-on...dearer than sidchrome but about the same quality.

Well I've got Snap-on, and Rota brands, both look quite similar but there is marked differences in quality.
If you're on a budget, you can't go past the Rota ones in my opinion. Ed

If you really want to **** money against the wall get strap on, otherwise Sidchrome or Kinchrome are just the same.

sidchrome are well pricead and i have never managed to brake any supertool sets. I allready have most of the tools - Just need a box

I have 2 repco professional series tool boxes , and they are very good and are very resonably priced ! While I happen to think the description of what repco stands for is very true , they do have some good deals ! Their range of spanners and stuff are also well priced and come with a life time warrenty !

Ive been a qualified mechanic since 92 and and basicly all of the comments above sound reasonably spot on ! Personaly i use Repco tools, they seem to handle the tough test's we put them through in the workshop and when something does break they give me a new one without any questions, no matter how old they are ! I also have some snap on tools, and ive broken some of those, so most top of the line tools do break, but the well known brands have gr8 warrantys, my repco toolbox has slidding roller draws and has copped a beatting and she still does the job ! Get the well known brands and when something does break ( under normal use !!! ) you will get a new one without to much hassle.

Well it like the old the saying "you get what you pay for". So spend a little extra on you tool box by getting a Repco & the likes & you will be happy for life.

I have been i the motor trade for well over 25 years and the best tools i have ever used would have to be either Snap-on or Star-willy. Yes the both cost more but you are buying quality. I don't no what people have against Snap-on. As for super-cheap there SWC brand of spanners and ratchets are made by the same company that makes both King-chrome and Snap-on. My advice is to but the best you can.

LOL, i remember buying my tools, i didnt have lots of cash on me..
i got a stupidly sized tool kit(1000pieces) from parklea markets (cheap rubbish) for a couple of hundred... and suprisingly nearly 5 years later i still have all the full kit, and ive only broken one spanner...... no brand name, all it has is Made In Taiwan stamped into every tool.. |
