Default Recommendations please - 12V portable tyre air pump

Am wondering what solutions you use, and recommend, for 12V portable (store in the boot) tyre air pumps.

Nothing too big, just for garage and/or open road use, rated to about 40PSI.

I am presuming power from cigarette lighter.

My FIL got one from Aldi in a plastic case that had a bunch of attachments, 5m coiled hose and even a puncture repair kit. Worked great on the trailer tyres I was pumping up, got them to pressure in a few minutes.

“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

I bought one like the one below, in a plastic case, from Repco, and use it to pump up the tyres on my 4x4 when I come off of the beach. It'll re-inflate 4 tyres from 15lb to 36lb in about 5-6 minutes.

Good value.

Transquip is a good online tool retailer based in WA but they ship Australia wide, and quickly.

I have 3 supercheap ones, garage, car shed etc, not the biggest one they sell, but its about $95 and they have them on sale for under $70 sometimes. they are pretty fast for normal sized tires, ride on mower, boat trailer etc.
pretty happy for the money. I bought my old man one, he like it too.
the little toy type ones are a joke, but some of the bigger 4wd type ones may be a bit bulky or overkill.
look for ratings in litre per minute, rather than max psi. gives a better idea of usefulness.

oh and they power from alligator clips, lighter powered ones are usually pretty slow.. due to max fuse rating of lighter socket and capacity of dash wiring. the smaller types plug in like that.

Most are toys , anything that plugs into lighter outlet is a toy , only buy one that has clips to connect to battery . For serious 4x4 stuff I would only use Dr Air pro flow , it won't let you down ( pun intended) and will last forever . Yes it's a bit bulky but all fitting and hoses are of an excellent quality . I only buy good tools anything less is false economy.

I think the pump for my 4x4 is a tigerz. Never let me down. Used it to pump up my tractor tyre the other day too.

Thanks guys for your advice, all very helpful.
Some are a bit pricey for me and my potential limited use, so will stick with the cig lighter option. I saw some of the toys at $10-sih on eBay so will pass on those but get something in the $50-100 range.
Again, thanks to all.

i have had a couple of the cheap ones given to me, and they seem to do the job intended, even pumped up a truck tyres with one(had to let it cool down though), also had a more expensive after market one it did the job was a bit better quality , still pretty slow though, i found the cheap branded ones i had used a ball bearing valve operation that was prone to dust having a detrimental effect on the performance, a drop or 2 of engine oil on the ball seemed to bring them back to life.
