Thumbs up Got my Shaker - now what do ya rekon to do...

My car - 2003 Blueprint GT with silver decal (with BOSS 290 Bonnet Decal). The shaker is black with silver stripes on top.
I dont want it colour coded same as the bonnet.... so
Few options -
1. Just cut the bonnet put the bugger on (obviously get a credited person to cut)
2. Carbon Fibre Bonnet with Blueprint Shaker.
3. Carbon Fibre Bonnet with Shaker Silver
4. Something different!! Silver bonnet - Blueprint Shaker......
Im going to have a hack in Photoshop but would like peoples opinions....
Cheers
Damo
PS: Piccies will be up as soon as it is on...

my opinion would be to keep the stock bonnet and colour code the shaker with your decals.
just a thought

common, guys he has already bought the shaker, obviously he likes it, so be it.

i reackon get a painted carbon fibre bonet, weight loss = better performance, and you dont hack up the factory bonnet.
About the shaker, get it painted crome-gold.

Go the blueprint bonnet (either cut up yours or get a fiberglass one already painted) and leave the shaker as is. Seen a few like this and there not to bad.
Cheers, Gibbo....

Buy one of those fibreglass bonnets running around, cut a hole, reinforce it, paint it stock colour...

When you sell the car, remove shaker/bonnet & replace with stock bonnet.

Thanks for the replies - and yes my opinion is the Shakers are the way to go - each to their own for taste on thier vehicles - my opinion they look pretty mean.:evil3: I will be using option 1 (after thinking about it for a while)..... I can always change later....

Don't do it. The quickest way to destroy the look of any new car, is to put a shaker on it. They don 't suit new cars.

Non functional= rice= bad?
so no stripes, so fancy paint jobs, no spoilers, no side skirts, no personalised number plates, or chrome or tinted light covers, not even chrome exhaust tips.
All cars shall be dull grey boring shaped, only cosmetic changes allowed shall be functional only. Lest ye be guilty of the unspeakable sin of "rice"

Jsut because my car is justa family hack does it have to look bland?
Sorry im not well today and very grumpy.

I agree, fit what you like if you like the look. My wheels, stripes, polished bits and airbrushing don't make the car go any better but they individualise it and I don't think that is rice. I agree that the shakers are not really functional(that has been discussed before so lets not go there), but many like the look and if it floats your boat, go for it.

Again - each to their own - I love them and it would be one of those 50/50 - love hate things to put on your car. Definately not rice - they are a bit like the push start - a retro accessory from the muscle cars from years ago.
One will be on mine.....

They are factory fitted,
let me explain the term seeing as though you have trouble understanding it,
Rice is defined as an non factory add on that is non functional, like the huge wings on the small Jap cars that everyone post pics of and bags the hell out of, but that's ok because they don't have a Blue oval, but don't dare say you don't like a tacky add on for a FORD now..... :nutsycuck
As has been said, each to their own, but don't get upset if you post up a mod and not everyone drools over it, when it comes to GT's, i love them as is.

The definition of rice is difficult. According to the definition so far, someone that puts a different aftermarket set of wheels that are the same size as the stock, for example my old Speedy Envy II 18x8's that replaced my XR 18x8's just because I liked the look, are in fact in breach of the rice laws. I think these rice laws have gone too far, who made up this stupid notion that anyone that varies their car from factory on the basis of looks alone is breaking some law enforced by people that don't own the thing. Sounds very school yard to me!

i thought your envy's looked great, geckoxr8.

touched a nerve there falcon coupe, didn't i? your post did not define "factory" but indeed states "non-functional". my GT in your eyes will be rice. who cares, it's mine.

They did look good, new ones look better and actually fit my brakes. I was not questioning the look of the wheels, just illustrating a point.
