[DISCLAIMER: INFO OR PICS MAY NOT BE ACCURATE]
Decided to compile a list of my top 10 fav cars. In no particular order: 1. Alfa Romeo 147 GTA - Possibly the only hatchback car in the whole universe I actually like and its one of the coolest cars around. Period. Hatches (bubble cars) are designed for 2 purposes; pussies to drive (i.e females) and to reduce the earth's fuel comsumption. This car however is as manly as small cars can get. 300hp V6, 0-100k in under 6 secs, top speed 250km/h+ 2. HSV GTS 300 Coupe - No longer available, this ultimate Aussie muscle car was a true performance hero of its time and is still the king of LS1's here! 3. Dodge Viper RT/10 - 500hp V10 with 500lb-ft torque. End of Story!! 4. Ferrari 355 F1 - It may not be the latest model nor the fastest ferrari to ever live but its looks and awesome sounding engine is enough to make a full grown man cry. 5. Chevrolet C6 Corvette Z06 - The direct competitor to the Viper but they are equally drool worthy. Race spec 7.0 Litre V8 engine with 500hp sounds good to me! 6. Nissan R34 GT-R Skyline V-Spec II - I'm not a skyline fan, nor a nissan fan for that matter. Infact I hate skylines, except for this model. Its sexy, its fast, its reliable, it corners like its on rails and it will rape any other car in its class. But I'm not biased... these things are turbo whores!!! Boost sluts even. The engine is overrated. Without those twin turbos that tiny 2.6 litre inline 6 engine would get its *** handed to it by a family falcon or commodore 6cyl engine. Still love the car though. Previous model skylines are fairly ugly and not as fast as most people would expect. 7. Ford SVT Cobra R Mustang - Mustangs are cool, all of them even the slow shitty ones but this version is possibly the fastest and coolest looking one IMO. 8. Porsche 911 GT2 - Most porsche's are pretty ugly and bloody expensive and overrated like shit. This one though is definetly what Porsche is all about! Sexy, sleek, uber fast, awesome sounding engine! 9. Mercedes AMG SL55 - Fastest auto convertible in the world, plus its a merc. Score! 10. Toyota TT Supra MkIV - The only Toyota I DO like. Lets face it, Toyota may be selling the most cars in Australia and America but all those people buying Camry's, Corollas, Landcruisers, etc are morons. Toyota make the most boring cars in the world and yet people still buy them cause they're cheap (cheap and crap) and its Toyota the brand everybody knows! Although Toyota have made a few sports cars over the years they killed them off cause they probably werent safe (no suprise!) and cost too much to produce. (well boohoo you tight holes) The Supras were badass, especially the later turbo models. I would saw my own balls off to own one. Nuff said. I love all kinds of cars infact I dunno why I called this my top 10 cause theres heaps of other cars I really like that would've made it on that list too. Oh well! What do you guys reckon on my choice of cars?

How can you say most Porsches are overrated or ugly? 147 GTA doesn't have 224kW (300hp). Other then that, not a bad list.

They're overrated eh? Funny that, a Boxster S is faster then every single car Ford/FPV make, and handles better then every single Aussie car ever made.. and well, many many other cars too. Look like a frog.. yeah, ok, whatever.

By the way, an '04 Boxster S will do 0-100 in 5.7 secs so you were saying? (Dont know about FPV but HSV's current lineup would rape it) I could buy an XR8 or SS and spend less than $10,000 and they could go faster and handle better than alot of porsches. Porsche = Overrated. Nice, but overrated yes.

$10k won't make a heavy sedan with familiy car origins out-handle any Porsche. If you do though, I'll personally give you a cookie.

Forget what was said about porche,
You talk about Toyota being cheap crap, Hate to tell you but as far as quality and workmanship go Toyota has a pretty good name in the industry. And they are not that cheap either, all are pretty comparable to other companies line ups in price. Even the 1976 model corollas and coronas are still getting around. I recall when I was growing up my parents had a 76 corona. mate you cannot kill thise engines, they just keep going.

Nice list.
Toymotors are boring but are well build cars. Porsches are over price for what they are.

Under normal driving conditions. The 18R engine from toyota would go and go, even when it was stuffed (chewing oil that badly we used "used oil") it was had it when they got the car, twice had the head off for a decoke but it just kept on going.

But that above comment is just plain stupid. A land cruiser is by far one of the toughest workhorses that any farmer could want. So their a moron for buying a reliable vehicle that suits their working conditions perfecly? Hardly.

I don't know why the hell this didn't make it....
The days when handling meant getting round a corner alive and stopping meant hitting something lol. All go and bugger all everything else lol And then there's the 3000GT...Its not a best ever top ten contender. Yeah they're porky and not that fantastic performance wise - i'm told - but man they look good.

Comparing them to Ferrari, the make they've been targetting for yrs... Cheaper. More reliable. Typically outperform their equivilant model. Proven performers in many racing series. And classic, beautiful styling. |

porsche arent more reliable than Ferrari
used to be, not any more. Porsche and Ferrari fans always tend to be 2 different types of ppl. The teutonicness of Porsche leaves me cold but u have to respect the cars they make. Last edited by MethodX; 09-04-2005 at 05:34 PM. |

I believe they took a hard hit when that piece of shit Cayenne landed. Owning a Porsche isn't cheap, but its a whole lot cheaper than a Ferrari. If any car is overrated its Skylines, Commodores and Falcons. Quote:

Can i just ask, is anyone here whos bagging the Porsche's actually driven one, there dynamics and the way the engine responds is amazing, the layout of the car and the way the driver its in the car is worth its asking price alone, is there any reason that the Boster S has won PCOTY every single time is entered?

Funny how people bag out Porsches and say they are expensive but what German car isn't? I'd take a boxer over any FPV or HSV anyday.
Apart from that the car that stands out in that list is the GTO, especially at no. 2 (much nicer cars out there) |
